Why do we have caucuses?

Q: What are they?

A: Gatherings of people who live in the same area and belong to the same political party meet to talk issues and choose candidates. They also cast a straw ballot expressing gubernatorial preferences.

Q: Who can take part?

A: Anyone can watch, but to take part you need to be eligible to vote on Nov. 7 and have an affiliation with the political party.
