Poem to grandmother
The poem written by David Eischens for his grandmother. He was in jail when she died, and was not able to attend her funeral.

Going through the day I must stop and pay tribute to you.

Thinking of the laughs, smiles and conversations, I finally let my feelings show true.

Even the times when I felt so alone in the dark, I remember those words, "it's all in your heart."

Now you've moved on to a special place, but your memory stays strong as tears stream down my face.

Yes, you are the one that always raised my spirits, I'll grant your wish, cause when I sleep your voice I can hear it. You never gave up, everyone was your friend, and when the family fell apart, you made us whole again.

Through trials and tribulations a strong heart is what you've given me, I could never forget you Gram, you're always in my memories.

I couldn't be there when you found Gitchimanidoo's grace, but I know you're happy now and that's all I need to put a smile on my face.

I don't have the words to describe everything you meant to me.

But I feel your eyes watching down upon this loving family.

Yes Grandma, our prayers go out to you, as well as our heart.

You're in Gitchimanidoo's care now gram and we will never be apart.

So I'll be strong, my memories long as I sit in this room, I love you so much and miss you dearly Grandma Bloom.

No more pain, and the misery has ceased, with the greatest love, Grandma, rest in peace.

Until we meet in my thoughts again, from the mind of your Grandson within.

In loving memory of our Grandma Bloom, we all love and miss you.

With all the love, Your David Eischens
