It's the time of year to start planning summer vacations, and South Dakota tourism officials hope to entice visitors with two little words: "Free Gas."

With gas prices rising across the country, the state is offering tourists from other Midwestern states a $20 voucher to buy ethanol-blended fuel in South Dakota.

South Dakota's Department of Tourism and State Development says it's already received 15,000 requests for the free gas voucher through its Web site. The department's Nicole Pullman talked with MPR's Tom Crann about the gas giveaway.
