It's hot and humid, and the last thing on most of our minds is decorating a six-foot pine tree in front of a blazing fire.
But the recent heat and lack of rain is taking a toll on Minnesota's Christmas tree farms.
Jan Donelson is the executive director of the Minnesota Christmas Tree Association, and a tree farmer in Clear Lake. She tells Minnesota Public Radio's Greta Cunningham what to expect when this year's crop of trees matures.
