Local theater, music and book awards
The second annual Ivey Awards presentation takes place this Monday at the State Theater in downtown Minneapolis. The Iveys, which honor achievement in local theater, are the newest set of statuettes to be handed out to recognize the state's best artists. They join, among others, the Minnesota Music Awards, celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, and the Minnesota Book Awards, which have been handed out since 1988. Joining us now with his nominees for Minnesota best awards for the arts is Morning Edition Arts Commentator Dominic Papatola.
