Kids' birthday parties are getting extreme

Think back to the best birthday party you had as a kid. Did you have cake and ice cream with close friends at home, or was it a catered event that required a guest list and elegant gift bags?

If you have never dreamt of the latter, University of Minnesota professor Bill Doherty says those types of parties are growing all too common.
