(AP) - Gov. Pawlenty is now in Afghanistan on an unannounced trip.

Pawlenty and the governors of Arizona and Oklahoma arrived in Afghanistan after a trip to Iraq, where Pawlenty met with Minnesota troops. The governors met with President Hamid Karzai in the presidential palace in Kabul.

The U.S. Embassy says it's likely the governors will also meet with troops from their individual states, but can't say when or where because of security reasons. A Pawlenty spokesman says he was not authorized to comment.
