The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts is hosting a touring version of "Edward Scissorhands" by noted British director and choreographer Matthew Bourne. 

Using Tim Burton's 1990 movie as a base, the production melds dance and theater into a new kind of art form that doesn't fit into standard categories. 

MPR's Cathy Wurzer talked with Morning Edition arts commentator and St. Paul Pioneer Press theater critic Dominic Papatola about this trend toward hybridization of the performing arts.
