The founder of Mancini's left a legacy of hospitality

The founder of a St. Paul institution has died. Nick Mancini has died after battling with Alzheimer's disease. He was 80.

In 1948, he opened a bar that would become Mancini's Char House and Vegas Lounge. Over the years, his steaks and hospitality would make the restaurant a popular destination for politicians, athletes and many loyal customers.

One of them is MPR's Gary Eichten, who remembers how Mancini had a knack for keeping his customers happy.
