Gov. Tim Pawlenty met with Michael Wilson, Canada's ambassador to the Unites States on Wednesday. They talked about the strong trade ties between Minnesota and Canada.

Canada is Minnesota's top trading partner. The governor and the ambassador also talked about border security issues. The challenge: how border security is implemented in a way that allows for free flow of people and goods between the two nations.

Minnesota Public Radio's Tom Crann talked with Wilson about these issues, and about the relationship between the two North American nations.
