Health officials from the American Medical Association and the Minnesota Medical Association toured the state Wednesday. Their message was that Medicare plans cut physician payments 10 percent on Jan. 1, 2008.

According to a new AMA survey, 60 percent of doctors say the cut will force them to limit the number of Medicare patients they actually serve.

Dr. Rebecca Patchin is a Trustee with the American Medical Association and Dr. Richard Geier is President of the Minnesota Medical Association. They joined All Things Considered host Tom Crann in the studio to talk about Medicare and the rising cost of medicine.
