A new Twin Cities Public Television documentary of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's recent European tour shows the people behind the music.

"Budapest to Berlin: On Tour with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra," isn't a concert film, but instead an intimate look at the musicians in the orchestra.

The documentary's highlights include two SPCO musicians returning to their hometowns. Violist Tamas Strasser visits Budapest, Hungary and violinist Michal Sobieski goes back to the places where he first played music as a child in Warsaw, Poland.

The documentary airs Monday on TPT2 at 8 p.m. and Tuesday on TPT17 at 7 p.m.

In a conversation with Minnesota Public Radio's John Birge, director Emily Goldberg talks about the challenges of following the SPCO on it's one-week, six-city European tour and capturing the musicians' experiences as they happened.
