Air pollution alert for Twin Cities, Rochester, Marshall

(AP) - The Twin Cities, Rochester and Marshall are under an air pollution health alert.

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency issued the advisory because of fine particle pollution in southern Minnesota.

The Twin Cities' air quality is expected to improve this afternoon. But the MPCA says Rochester's air quality may be poor for most of the day.

High humidity and foggy conditions are creating ideal conditions for fine particle pollution in southern Minnesota.

Winds are expected to change direction and start coming from the north around noon, which will begin to clear out the Twin Cities' air. But the change in wind direction is expected to blow some of the Twin Cities' pollution back into Rochester.
