Hennepin Technical College student diagnosed with TB

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Hennepin Technical College officials say a student on the school's Brooklyn Park campus has been diagnosed with tuberculosis.

The agency says the student has an active and infectious form of the disease. TB can spread to people who have prolonged close contact with someone who has the active and infectious form.

Health officials are screening students, teachers and staff workers who may have been exposed to TB, but so far nobody else has been found to have the disease.

The student who was diagnosed with TB has withdrawn from the college.
