All eight candidates for the Republican presidential nomination got together in St. Petersburg, Florida Wednesday night for a debate sponsered by CNN and YouTube.

The two-hour debate featured questions submitted on YouTube by citizens around the nation. CNN producers sifted through some 5,000 questions, ending up with 40 or so for the candidates to respond to.

The debate got pretty lively from time to time, with the candidates exchanging sharp barbs on a number of issues -- immigration and torture, to name just two. Anderson Cooper of CNN moderated the debate.
