Duluth residents want city to permit chicken raising

Some Duluth residents would like the city to relax its policy against keeping chickens in residential zones.

They have drafted a mission statement to promote responsible urban agriculture by establishing clear legal guidelines for raising chickens in Duluth.

The group says the birds are cleaner and quieter than some cats and dogs, and the birds are part of an environmentally friendly, sustainable-foods lifestyle.
