Family of baby burned in an incubator still waits to hold him
The lawyer for the parents of a newborn who was burned at a hospital this week said the family was still waiting to hold their child.
The baby, named Maverick, was born premature at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, Minn., and was in a bassinet with an oxygen tent over his face.
That oxygen somehow ignited, and now Maverick has burns on his scalp, face, shoulders and hands.
Chris Messerly, who represents the baby's parents, said the parents were headed to the hospital nursery Tuesday morning to see their son for the first time.

"The nurse said that they could not come in because of an emergency, so they looked in the window and saw a great deal of commotion. They learned thereafter that their son had been on fire in the nursery. To this point, the mom still hasn't been able to hold the baby," said Messerly.
Maverick is in critical but stable condition at Hennepin County Medical Center.
Officials say the boy will most likely survive.
A plastic surgeon at HCMC said he doesn't know what kind of surgery Maverick might need because he's never seen burns like this on a 12 hour old baby.
