St. Cloud State University president Earl Potter says the forum gave people on campus a chance to talk about racism.
"A university community should respond to crisis by coming together, reflecting on what's happened, making meaning of what's happened together as a community," said Potter.
Since November about a dozen swastikas have been found scrawled in public places on campus.
Student Bryce Zackery, who is black, thinks the forum is exactly the kind of reaction the person who drew the swastikas was looking for.
"The only reason they put it out there was so that people would react. This guy is probably sitting on his couch right now, laughing it up because he knows there are multiple events on campus," said Zackery.
Campus officials and police are still trying to determine who's responsible for the racist graffiti.
