Sunday marks the 30th birthday of Jacob Wetterling, and his family says they will spend the day together to honor him - just like they have every year since his disappearance.

Wetterling was just 11-years-old when he was abducted near St. Joseph on October 22nd, 1989.

There are still no clues as to what happened to him and no arrests have been made.

A digitally enhanced picture of Wetterling was done last year, updated to reflect how he might look today.

His mother, Patty Wetterling, says Sunday will be a tough day. She says the family will say some prayers. She wants others to think of her son as well, and she says families should use the weekend as an opportunity to talk to their own kids about being safe.
