Snow advisory tonight across Central Minn.

The National Weather Service has issued a snow advisory for much of Central and South Central Minnesota and a portion of West Central Wisconsin.

Snowfall accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are expected in the advisory area, with the highest snowfall expected north of the Twin Cities metro area eastward along the Highway 8 corridor of West Central Wisconsin.

The National Weather Service said travelers should take caution as roads will be covered with snow and visibility could be limited.

Light snow and intermittent drizzle this afternoon will change over to heavier precipitation this evening.

The snow advisory takes effect Monday night at 7 p.m.

A winter storm watch for West Central Minnesota has been canceled, although 1 to 3 inches of snow is still expected to fall there.
