St. Paul police search for suspect in attempted kidnapping

St. Paul police have arrested one man and are searching for another in the attempted kidnapping of a 14-year-old girl.

Police said the girl was walking on the city's East Side on Tuesday when a car pulled up beside her. The passenger got out and tried to pull the girl inside the car. The girl screamed and fought and grabbed the side mirror. She was dragged for about 30 feet before she escaped.

She was later treated at a local hospital for scrapes on her leg then released.

The girl was able to give officers a vehicle description and a partial license plate number. When police showed her a photo lineup, she picked out a suspect.
