Minneapolis was quiet while other cities burned
Most people old enough to remember, can tell you where they were and what they were doing 40 years ago today, April 4th 1968. The day Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was assassinated. While many people can remember it, the news hit African-Americans especially hard. To find out how African-Americans in north Minneapolis reacted to news of the civil rights leader's death, MPR's Tom Crann spoke with Vivian Jenkins Nelsen. Nelson is the CEO and co-founder of the Interrace institue in Minneapolis.
