One of the Twin Cities best-known media personalities will be missing from the evening news. Longtime WCCO meteorologist Paul Douglas was released from the station last week.
Douglas has been on the air in the Twin Cities for more than 20 years -- he began his local career at KARE 11.
The move comes as WCCO's owner, CBS, announced a series of high-profile layoffs at stations across the country, including many well-known anchors and reporters.
MPR's Perry Finelli talked with David Brauer, a media analyst in the Twin Cities and a reporter for MinnPost.com, about the troubles facing broadcast television.
