Hamline University launches MBA program

Hamline University announced today it is launching a new school of business. The St. Paul liberal arts institution will pull together existing programs in management and public administration and add new areas of instruction beginning this fall.

The school started offering masters degrees in business administration in January.

Julian Schuster is dean of the Graduate School of Management and will take the helm for the new venture. He sees potential for Hamline to differentiate its business school approach from others in the marketplace.

"Enhancing critical thinking skills, enhancing moral reasoning, enhancing communication skills to follow the students as well as their sense of history and sense of sciences on one side, with a traditional business education such as concept of accounting, concepts of finance," said Schuster.

Hamline is also leasing space in St. Louis Park to be a contact point for graduate students in the west metropolitan area.
