Students suspected in Capitol vandalism
The portraits of former Govs. Jesse Ventura, Harold LeVander and Elmer L. Andersen were damaged with a red marker sometime last Wednesday.
The Minnesota State Patrol now says two male students from Eastview High School in Apple Valley are under investigation and facing possible charges.
Lt. Robert Meyerson said one of the students has confessed. "Some of the students were talking," he said. "I don't know if you'd say bragging but were talking about what they had done at the Capitol. And that got to the school officials, and they've been very cooperative in helping us."
A spokesman for the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan school district confirmed a 9th grade U.S. Government class from Eastview toured the Capitol on May 14th.
He declined further comment, citing data privacy laws.
