MnSCU board gives chancellor a big raise
The head of the Minnesota State Colleges and University system has received a $20,000 dollar a year raise.
The MnSCU Board of Trustees has approved a pay increase that will give Chancellor James McCormick a yearly salary of $360,000 dollars.
In addition the 69-year old McCormick will be paid a bonus of more than $23,000 dollars for achieving performance goals. Next year he's eligible for a similar bonus of up to $50,000.
A statement from MnSCU's Board says the chancellor is a "strong leader" both in the state and nationally. The statement also says McCormick has made progress in establishing goals for the MnSCU system.
McCormick has headed up MnSCU since July of 2001.
