(AP) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is headed back to Minnesota in early August for a private fundraiser.

According to an invitation, Obama will be at a downtown Minneapolis hotel on August 6. The Democratic National Committee will share in the contributions.

Donors are being asked to contribute between $1,000 and $28,500, with those raising or giving the larger amount invited to a dinner.

A $5,000 check gets donors into a private photo reception with the Illinois senator.

Obama spokesman Nick Kimball confirmed the upcoming appearance.

Obama was last in Minnesota in June, on the day he nailed down his party's presidential nomination.

He spoke to a huge crowd at the Xcel Energy Center, the same building where Republican candidate John McCain will accept his party's nod during the GOP national convention in early September.
