The Minneapolis 311 service will expand to much of the metro area during the Republican National Convention in early September.

Dialing 311 will connect callers to a Convention Information Call Center, set up to answer questions regarding flight times, restaurants, tourist attractions, traffic, directions and other information.

The service will be available within the Interstate 494 and 694 loop. The service will operate from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. starting next Monday.

It will be available around the clock from Sunday the 30th to September Fifth. Outside the service area, people can reach the call center by dialing 612-673-3000.
