The Republican candidates are holding a rally at noon at the Anoka County- Blaine Airport. McCain and Palin were last in Minnesota for the Republican National Convention, just over two weeks ago. A regional spokesman for McCain says the senator is returning so soon because Republicans think they have a good chance of carrying the state for the time since 1972.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with National Public Radio reporter David Greene who is travelling with the McCain campaign.
