Gov. Pawlenty is asking two cabinet members for advice on instability in the financial markets.

Pawlenty's office said Commerce Commissioner Glenn Wilson and Employment and Economic Development Commissioner Dan McElroy will serve as the Governor's Economic Outlook Analysis Team.

McElroy said the team will look at the effect of the financial crisis on Minnesota jobs, economic development and state-regulated financial services companies.

"There are state regulated financial institutions, state-chartered banks and credit unions, and all insurance sales in Minnesota are regulated by the state, there also are some investment company activities that are regulated by the state," McElroy said.

McElroy said the Governor's Economic Outlook Analysis Team also will look at indirect impacts on Minnesota's credit markets, and whether there are things the state needs to do in that area.
