St. Paul student in stable condition after stabbing

St. Paul police say a junior high school student has been upgraded to stable condition after he was stabbed by another student at Highland Park Junior High School.

Police spokesman Sgt. Pete Crum says a female student has been arrested in the attack, which happened about 12:35 p.m. Wednesday.

The male victim was taken to Regions Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition. Police said the victim is expected to released from the hospital late Wednesday afternoon or early evening.

Police did not release other details.
