Six candidates vying to be the next chairman of the Republican National Committee stressed a return to the party's core principles at a forum this week at the National Press Club.

Members of the RNC will decide among them when they convene in Washington on Jan. 28.

Mike Duncan, who is the current chair of the RNC, appeared at this week's forum with Saul Anuzis of Michigan, Ken Blackwell of Ohio, Katon Dawson of South Carolina, Chip Saltsman of Tennessee and Michael Steele of Maryland.

The debate was moderated by Grover Nordquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform.
