Later this morning, President-Elect Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th president of the United States.

Millions of people from all over the country are in the nation's capitol to witness the inaugural events, including many from Minnesota.

One of them is Dr. Miguel Diaz, a professor of theology at the College of St. Benedict and St. John's University. He served on Obama's Catholic advisory council, and was invited to attend the inauguration ceremony.

Dr. Diaz spoke with Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer.
