Christian Lander says his book is not so much about race, but a satire on class and privilege.

Christian Lander makes people uncomfortable -- and makes them laugh.

Lander, a native of Canada, is an Internet sensation for his satirical writings on his blog, "Stuff White People Like."

There are entries on bicycles, film festivals, living without a television, recycling, and of course, public radio.

Lander has been giving back to the community through sales of the "Stuff White People Like" shirt. It features many things listed in his blog and book. All profits go to the Children of the Night charity, which helps vulnerable youngsters avoid being drawn into child prostitution.

"The lack of a television has left many white people without viable entertainment," Lander writes. "And much as they would like to believe that they can read books during every moment of their free time, it's simply not possible. They need something to fill the gap and provide background noise while they play on the Internet."

"They need public radio. Public radio provides white people with news and information that has the proper perspective (their own.)"

Christian Lander's musings have now been collected into a book called "Stuff White People Like."

It's less about skin color and more about being a member of the liberal elite.

Lander told Minnesota Public Radio's Euan Kerr the whole thing started on a whim.
