Gwen Ifill, host of PBS' "Washington Week," discusses her new book "The Breakthrough: Politics in the Age of Obama," with New York Times columnist Bob Herbert.

In the book, Ifill profiles four of the nation's "new generation" of African-American politicians, including President Barack Obama.

Ifill appeared at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston last week.
