State Sen. Tom Bakk (DFL-Cook) leads the pack of DFL candidates for governor in the fundraising race.

Bakk, the Tax Committee chair in the Minnesota Senate, reports raising $146,000 in 2008. The DFLer from Cook has about $132,000 left in the bank.

State Rep. Paul Thissen (DFL-Minneapolis) was second among DFL candidates. He raised $115,000 in the final two months of 2008.

Ramsey County Attorney Susan Gaertner raised $46,000 and DFL Senator John Marty raised nearly $30,000.

Two of the other DFL candidates, former U.S. Sen. Mark Dayton (D-Minn.) and former Minnesota House Minority Leader Matt Entenza (D-St. Paul) didn't have to file reports, because they didn't declare their intention to run until 2009.

Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty reported last week that he raised more than $750,000 and has $580,000 left in the bank. Pawlenty said he will not announce whether he intends to run for a third term until later this year.
