Minnesota's Gray Wolves are being taken off the endangered species list, again. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar says the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service made the right call earlier this year to take the wolves off of the endangered species list in the Great Lakes region and throughout most of the Northern Rockies.

The wolves will keep their protected status in Wyoming due to weak legal and management plans there.

The Bush administration took gray wolves off the the endangered list in January, but the Obama Administration chose to review that decision along with many other Bush-era regulations.

To talk more about the gray wolf population in and around Minnesota, All Things Considered called Dan Stark. Stark is a wolf management specialist with Minnesota's Department of Natural Resources.
