Valleyfair may be for sale

(AP) - The owner of the Valleyfair amusement park in Shakopee, Minn., says it's considering selling that park and another one it owns in Missouri to pay down its debt.

Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. is based in Ohio. The other park mentioned for possible sale is Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Mo.

The company said Monday that it's too early to speculate on the timing or price of any deal.

Cedar Fair also has been talking about selling California's Great America in Santa Clara, Calif. to the San Francisco 49ers for parking at its proposed football stadium.

Cedar Fair took on a huge debt in 2006 with its $1.24 billion acquisition of Paramount Parks Inc.

The company also said Monday that it will cut its annual distribution rate nearly in half to $1.00 per limited partner unit.
