Swine flu case reported in northeastern Minnesota
Health officials say they've confirmed the first case of H1N1 flu in northeastern Minnesota.
The case announced Thursday is connected to Homecroft School in Duluth, which remains open. The infected person is expected to make a full recovery.
The number of confirmed cases of swine flu in Minnesota now stands at 37, with most of those in the Twin Cities area.
The Minnesota Department of Health also says it's telling schools about a narrower definition for what officials are calling H1N1 novel influenza.
Based on recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state health officials are telling people to look for temperatures higher than 100 degrees and a cough or sore throat. Previously, a runny nose had been on the list.
