Missing 96-year-old man 'safe and sound' at home

A 96-year-old south Minneapolis man who had gone missing for more than a day returned to his home "safe and sound" Wednesday evening, officials said.

Albin Paszkiewicz left his home at about 9 a.m. Tuesday and had not been heard from until the following day, according to Minneapolis Police Sgt. William Palmer.

Paszkiewicz was last seen without his top dentures and wearing a red, white and blue plaid shirt, khaki pants and slippers. He had only a limited amount of funds with him and a half a tank of gas when he left the house Tuesday morning, officials said.

Paszkiewicz, who has a strong Polish accent, has been experiencing memory loss, police said.

It's unclear where he spent the day.
