Wisconsin Gov. Doyle to reopen Lake Delton
Gov. Jim Doyle will announce the reopening of Lake Delton at the site of a popular water show in Wisconsin Dells.
Doyle's Tuesday announcement at the Tommy Bartlett Show site comes a year after the 264-acre lake emptied when record rainfalls washed away land and a portion of the highway.
The water-ski portion of the Tommy Bartlett Show started two weeks ago after it and three dozen other business and resorts that ring the lake ended up high and dry last summer.
Doyle committed to quickly restoring and refilling the lake and the state Department of Natural Resources made sure to finish before the start of this summer's tourism season.
