Mankato area reports 1st case of swine flu

Mankato health officials have confirmed the area's first case of swine flu.

Officials announced the diagnosis in an adult female on Friday. But Mankato Clinic Medical Director Dr. Mark Matthias says the woman has recovered and already returned to work.

The woman did not require hospitalization. Doctors suspect she contracted the virus after being exposed to it in the Twin Cities area.

Minnesota has had 425 confirmed cases of swine flu.

Matthias says the woman's case was fairly mild.
