I-394 exit to downtown Minneapolis closed

An exit ramp in downtown Minneapolis has been temporarily closed while crews prepare for additional roadwork in the area later this year.

The 12th Street North exit ramp on I-394 closed for all traffic starting Tuesday morning, officials said.

The closures will last for four weeks, and the ramp is expected to reopen to traffic during the week of July 20, officials said.

Drivers should plan on using one of the several alternate exits into downtown during this time.

The closure is needed so crews can realign the roadway to prepare for the conversion of 1st Avenue/Hawthorne Avenue into a two-way street later this year.
