The new owners of the festival put several changes in place for the 27th annual Taste of Minnesota. There's tighter security in place. And after 3pm, festival-goers must pay $10 dollars at the gate, which entitles them to 10 food and drink tickets.

This is the first time Jennifer Katz from Plymouth has attended the food and music festival in more than 20 years. Katz says despite its name, the popular summer event doesn't seem to focus on Minnesota food.

"No. But it's still good food, and worth coming down."

'80s rockers Whitesnake and Judas Priest headline the festival Friday night. Elvis Costello will perform at the Taste of Minnesota's main stage on Saturday night.
