Two UND hockey players charged with disorderly conduct

A current University of North Dakota hockey player and a former standout face misdemeanor charges after an incident in which police say the two created a mess and a public hazard on a city street.

Twenty-two-year-old Joe Finley and 21-year-old Matt Frattin both are charged with disorderly conduct. Frattin also faces a fleeing charge, and Finley faces a charge of giving false information to officers.

UND Police Lt. Dan Lund says the two were arrested about 3 a.m. Tuesday after throwing objects from a residential garage, including glass dinnerware. He says traffic had to be redirected until a street crew cleaned up the mess.

Finley, a first-round draft pick of the Washington Capitals in 2005, played four seasons for the Sioux. He signed with Washington at the end of last season. Frattin was UND's third-leading goal scorer last season as a sophomore.
