Practice rounds for the 91st PGA golf championship get underway today at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska.
Players from 21 countries, including top-ranked Tiger Woods and No. 2 Phil Mickelson, will compete for the title.
Championship director Michael Belot says players on the tour are excited to be back in Minnesota.
"It's a wonderful golf market, and fans here are just golf crazy," said Belot. "Also you have a wonderful championship golf course in Hazeltine, that is one of the best courses in the country."
At more than 7,600 Hazeltine is the longest course ever for a major golf championship. Hazeltine last hosted the PGA Championship in 2002, which was won by Rich Beem.
Tickets are still available for the season's final major golf tournament. Children 17 and under get in free with a ticketed adult to the tournament, which starts on Thursday and runs through Sunday.
