Guitar virtuoso and inventor Les Paul will be buried Friday in his native Waukesha at the Prairie Home Cemetery.

Cemetery manager David Brenner confirmed the burial date. He tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the details of the service are pending, including whether it will be public or not.

Paul died in White Plains, N.Y. on Aug. 13 of complications from pneumonia at age 94.

Paul, known as the "the Wizard of Waukesha," was known for his lightning-fast riffs and performed with some of early pop's biggest names and produced a slew of hits.

But it was his invention of the first solid-body electric guitar that paved the way for modern rock 'n' roll and became the standard instrument for legends like Pete Townshend and Jimmy Page.
