Experts to vote on best cold climate wine

Fifteen wine experts will gather at the University of Minnesota's St. Paul campus on Tuesday for a unique wine tasting.

They'll vote for their favorite wines made from fruits grown in cold climates. Organizers say it's the only competition for these cold-weather wines. It's being put on by the Minnesota Grape Growers Association, the Minnesota State Fair, and the University of Minnesota.

The university helped develop several of the cold-hardy grapes that are used to make the wines in the competition.

The winners will be displayed at this year's state fair, which starts Thursday.
