1 killed in traffic accident in Hugo
One person was killed and two others injured Thursday afternoon, after a van and a semitrailer truck collided on Highway 61 near Hugo in the north metro area.
The accident closed both lanes of Highway 61 until 3 p.m.
The truck rear-ended the van on northbound Highway 61 at 159th St., according to a State Patrol incident report.
One person in the van was killed and two others were taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Their names have not been released.
The driver of the truck, Seth Strehler, 32, of Rockford, was not injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to Lt. Matt Langer of the State Patrol.
