Biofuels researchers to gather in Superior

Researchers from universities, laboratories and businesses around the Midwest will gather at the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Thursday to discuss their work in biofuel technology.

Leaders in the field will talk about the latest ideas and developments in biofuels in hopes of reducing the country's reliance on foreign oil.

The symposium was set up by Chicago-based American Science and Technology. AST and the University of Wisconsin-Superior are working together on federally funded research to develop cold-tolerant biofuels using plants from northern Wisconsin and northern Minnesota.

Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton will deliver the event's keynote address.
